Nicole Farhi. London Fashion Week

A wet, drizzly morning- wind shaking the early morning air: but we ventured out into the midst of a damp, busy street. Running for a cab, then sprinting to the 9 am show, clinging onto dripping hats and soaked umbrellas. And while the initial effort was far from enjoyable, the beauty of Nicole Farhi's collection made the whole journey more than worthwhile. A muted palette of colours, sharp tailoring juxtaposed with casual slouchiness- the collection exuded an understated sort of elegance- the sort of clothes you would expect to see women lounging in cafes on Rue St. Honore in Paris, wearing. And while I was a little dubious regarding the choice of footwear (most of the models seemed to be wearing a shiny-verging-on-tacky leather boot), I left the show with the intention of investing in more classical tailoring.

What I'm Wearing:
Vintage Hat (bought at Spitalfields Market), Vintage Wool Cape, Topshop Studded Gloves & Shorts, Urban Outfitters Bag.

"Rocking with the Bestest"

John Rocha After-Party at The Claridges.
Floods of white wine in glittering crystal. Miniature Ice-cream cones. A couple giggly G&Ts. Golden candle-light & a dollop of camera flash to finish.

THEN. We gathered everyone up & headed to Molton House, just off Bond Street.
What a beautiful bunch of people & what a beautiful night.
Fashion Week really is a 5 day long sartorial party,
and our celebrations seemed to reach their peak that night.

What I'm Wearing: Alexander McQueen Skull Scarf tied into a Headband & Vintage Faux Fur Grey Shag Coat ...Michael is wearing my Urban Outfitters Anna Wintour Tee. And finally the pretty people in the photos: Frances, Michael S, Nadia of FrouFrouu (and her brother),Imogen of EightLondon & the wonderfully happy Guy Howes.

MORE SOON. Happy Friday!

Back from London Fashion Week. I can't shake city-life out of my system. Durham is dull, and so is my degree. While it might sound like I am merely complaining, I must say I have never found university life more depressing. Thank God I am graduating in a couple of months. Until then I am trapped in this bubble of pointless work and stifling gossip. LFW is always the highlight of my year- and this season was truly sensational. Being an absolute photography whore, I have hundreds of photos to sort through- most of which I will sharing within the next couple days, or weeks-there are that many.

Boohoo Street Style featured me twice here. And I'm on Yvan Rodic's blog too. See if you can spot me! More later. Going for lunch with a friend....and then, dissertation work. Not much else to say, except...I need London back in my life.

Photography by Vanessa Jackman.

We traipsed to Nicole Farhi this morning. It was cold & rainy. But the venue; The Royal Opera House was beautiful, as were the clothes. Quick Post-as we are about to dash to Somerset House. Vanessa Jackman has my documenting my daily outifts, you can see here. We are featured on ASOS TV. You can see my friends & I laughing and talking...very nervously, right here.

More soon. Very Soon.

We are going to Brick Lane for Breakfast & then back to Somerset House.

This hat seems to be made of cardboard, which is rather curious- or at least I find it intriguing. Would it disintegrate in the rain? Black dissolving all into your hair, dripping down onto your cheeks? Hmm.... I dare not try.

Invitations seem to always come in black envelopes- and while I have become a LFW regular- I still get a secret thrill when I see my name and website scrawled on a thick, expensive looking envelope. Literally buzzing for London Fashion Week. Frances & I leave tomorrow, at 16.08 to be precise. I am staying in Bloomsbury with one of my most beautiful friends- I'm sure her face will be be popping up on Frassy in the next week.

Last fashion season, I had adorable handmade Frassy Cards- I sat up until the early hours with glue & scissors. My hands ached. This year, I went professional. 600 of these babies are coming with me to Somerset House- and let me tell you, they are NOT going to be shy- they promised to throw themselves at anyone and EVERYONE. Hey, a little self-promotion never hurt anyone...right?

See you all at Somerset House! I'll be there from 9:30 am on Friday morning for the Paul Costelloe show.

What I'm Wearing: Vintage Blazer, H&M Men's Shirt, Beyond Retro Denim Shorts, Rokit Vintage Hat & New Look Heeled Ankle Boots

Whenever I see "WET PAINT" signs, this irrestible urge comes over me...and all I want to do is drag my hand through the slick damp paint. Big cappuccinos and people watching are my two favourite things to do on a weekend. I had a manic Friday filled with essay deadline dread and tension, but this weekend was the perfect remedy for the week's stress. I have been filling very empty these days. Anyone who is close to me has noticed. I haven't exactly been the most fun person to be around; and while I have nothing in concrete to feel sad about it, my view on the world is pathetically filled with an un-necessary melancholy that I am determined to shake off. And soon.

I leave for Fashion Week on Thursday. I am so excited to be back on The Strand, in the midst of it all...probably stumbling all over the place on the impossibly unpredictable cobblestones of Somerset House. Also looking forward to seeing some of the most inspiring people I know. And best yet, I have some exciting clothes coming my way- so all in all, it is going to be the best week of the year. It is always such an honour when people come up to me at LFW and ask me about Frassy. So I hope to see you there!

By the WAY: Have you noticed the size of my wardrobe in these photos?! Have you seen how painfully SMALL it is? About a quarter of my clothes fit in there, the rest are folded in piles that are forever circling my room: from my desk, to the floor...and I have even resorted to under my bed. It is a distressing situation!Especially as I suffer from total OCD when it comes to organization. One day I'll have the walk-in wardrobe that I actually have vivid dreams about at night.

Barry M Nail Varnish. Ring: Galibardy

I should be in bed. Instead I painted my nails & admired this new ring I bought last week. Have you noticed the absence of any sort of necklace in my outfits recently? For some reason, I have completely forgotten about my vintage & custom-made pendant collection and have become unhealthily obsessed with finger bling- i.e. RINGS. Whichever shop I wander into, I automatically, without prior thought, find myself scanning the jewellery section for a new lovely I can slide onto my finger. Now anyone who knows me, knows that another ring is the last thing I ever need to buy. I have cocktail glasses & bowls brimming with them...but there is really nothing as satisfying as delving in, not knowing what you are going to find...and pulling out a gem your hands haven't worn for a while.

"it is desirable, in order to break through that tyranny, that people should be eccentric"
-John Stuart Mill

What I'm wearing:
H&M Men's Flannel Shirt, Topshop Scoop Scarf, Spanish Moss Vintage Thigh High Leggings, Boots from ebay.

Hmm. What a weekend. Rowdy behaviour ended swiftly, culminating in a Saturday of banoffee pie & midnight margherita pizza. Sunday is a rather bland day, but for once I am almost thankful for its plodding monotony of lazy mornings, quiet rain & casual reading. Although I'm determined to clear out my wardrobe this evening; I seem to momentarily forget the concept of folding clothes while getting ready for a night-out. So instead of piles of clothes, I have heaps, which are stuffed haphazardly into drawers & shelves. I am incredibly obsessive about organization, so you can imagine how this wardrobe-dilemma is killing me.

Last night I toyed with the idea of stopping blogging until I've graduated and am living in London. It seems at times, this blog becomes a mechanism where fellow Durham students can criticize and personally attack me. It arrives in gushing waves; the minute I think it has ceased, another spiteful anon has struck. What frustrates me most, is that my blog is about what I wear, not my personal life or what I do on the weekends. And the fact that this blog has created a seemingly angry group of people who enjoy these anonymous attacks, really disturbs me. How vacuous and empty your lives must be to sit in front of a screen and send abuse my way. Go get some hobbies, or some friends and leave Frassy alone. Please.

On a final note, it is London Fashion Week soon. I need to get the hell out of Durham and a week of fashion is the ultimate escape! ! ! Whats more, Amy Elderton at Burberry has invited me to the Burberry Headquarters for an exclusive view of the show rooms, design rooms and offices. I'll be sure to photograph and share what will no doubt be an awesome experience.

"You're like a cigarette burning in glass,
Ash falls from desk to floor,
You leave teardrops everywhere,
You're a weeping citrus fruit,
Swelling at its core,
Splashing lights, Swimming Sounds,
During a summer-night country fair,
Soft smashed marshmellows dripping pink into
Flaring orange flickering flames"
-Audrey Leighton Rogers

Vintage EVERYTHING + Urban Outfitters Drawstring Bag

A dear friend of mine took this photograph. She told me not to change it into black & white, but I did. She also advised me to buy this strange, sheer, long black garment, which I also did. Salvation Army is such fun. Nothing like used clothes on a rainy Thursday evening.

I'm possibly, maybe, potentially...going out on Friday night. But it means getting up at 6 am tomorrow morning for a frantically productive day. I've become rather uptight recently, probably because I have such a vast amount to do. Either way, letting loose def. seems like a good idea.

Vintage EVERYTHING + Blanco Wedges

Waves of caffeine. Oranges peels interspered between piles of paper. Grey skies & Fur Coats. Nothing like knee-socks that shrink & don't quite reach my knees anymore. Crisp New Magazines. Chocolate Covered Brazil Nuts. Permanent Markers & Poster Board. Scribbling weird quotes on colourful index cards & frantically sticking them all over my doors. Searching every corner of ebay for a pair of non-frumpy hiking-esque boots to wear ironically. Except, no one will understand the irony and instead will just think I'm wearing boots made for mountains.
