Summer Words Float By.

"I take walks in the morning and pretend there's a sun in these dissapointed skies"
-Dylan Thomas

What I'm Wearing:
Vintage Handbag & Skirt (Hemmed shorter), Thrifted Tee twisted into a crop top,
Oxford Heels: Primark, Denim Jacket: ebay.

These are the last Frassy photos that will incorporate my grungy back garden scene. As of the 1st of July, scenery will be somewhat different: I will be bouncing from Edinburgh to Spain to London...and a dozen strange places in between. I am excited for what will no doubt be an exhilirating summer but I have been rather nostalgic for what has been a wonderful academic year. Frassy Rags is being re-vamped in July: so keep your style eyes peeled for what will be an assortment of fashion goodies.

Megan Godlew interviewed me for her column at The Examiner, you can read it here.

More soon...and this time, it won't be a week until my next post, I promise.

The night is falling, the night is calling...

"But I keep climbing and hoping things would change...
And the sky turns grey, and the water from the rain washes progress away. "
-Usher

What I'm Wearing:
Being completely broke, with hardly a pile of pennies for food, I took on the "charity-shop challenge": buying a complete outfit for less than five pounds. This is what I conjured up: a polka dot one-piece swimsuit & a granny skirt I hacked at with some scissors. All for 4.50...Bargain, right? I wore this ensemble to my most favourite nocturnal spot in Durham: Klute. In fact I love it so much that I was recently given a V.I.P card which means I never have to pay or queue to get in ever again! yay!

P.S: In case your wondering where my extra long hair came from,
I give you the answer of clip in extensions.

Currently in the process of moving house: my once-covered walls are completely striped bare and there are no longer necklaces and shoes filling every corner & every space. It is always nostalgic leaving a home behind: but I am excited for my final year as a student in a new, more comfortable residence.

FINALLY: Liz over at the addictive modcloth.com invited me to be their latest BLOGGER OF THE MOMENT: not only did they interview me, they also asked me to pick my favourite modcloth products and then, even sent a box of them to me! You can read my interview here & view my favourite modcloth products here.

Twist Up on Tuesday

"I'm a geek at heart. I read comic books, date nerds, I like jumpsuits and sequins with loafers: geek chic, I suppose"
-VV Brown

What I'm Wearing:
Zara One-Shoulder Dress, Vintage Necklaces & Bag, Clock Pendant & Hat: modcloth.com

Thank you to Liz over at Modcloth for sending me some amazing stuff: including this hugely addictive hat: I want to wear this baby with everyyythinggg!

When life throws a bunch of emotional problems in your direction: grab your friends & a pair of heels & GO OUT. As Madonna says " its time for the good times, forget about the bad times". This is what I have been doing recently, probably a little too frequently: Frances and the bff, Jade in particular, have showed me some hilariously crazy fun recently. Sunday night saw me locked out of my house at 2am: I took to the streets, thank god Durham is a small place: I found a great deal of familiar faces on the streets with who I conversed with. There was a very lengthy conversation about "Great Love" and another detailed discussion regarding techniques used for cooking pasta. Last night provided me with a wave of drunken texts from friends, my favourite being "SO out tonight, betch": from Frances

The Frassy Return

Friday, June 12, 2009
"I thought it was cooler to be interesting than to be pretty. Looks aren't everything. I always knew I wasn't beautiful"
-Winona Ryder

WHAT I'M WEARING:
Denim Jacket: ebay.co.uk, Dress: Charity Shop- 3 pounds, Wedges: asos.com Sunglasses: Monikapolitan &Vintage Hand-Bag

Hellooo again- a week has gone by without posting- I am slightly ashamed: the last 7 seven days have been completely hedonistic- every minute was infused with laughing or drinking or dancing- I couldn't bear to miss out even for a second. Hence, my absence from the blogosphere. But I am back, and won't be going anywhere all summer long. You excited? I am.

My Perfect Thursday Night: Slightly tired from post-party but also from a busy day. Completely Broke but manage to scrape together 5.20 for a large margherita pizza with the bff. Drive to the river, eat slices of cheesy bliss and talk until dark falls.
Amazing.

In my photos above, I have styled my hair using TresSemme Products:
Frassy & TresSemme have collaborated: first 9 UK readers to comment will receive some great giveaways.
So press comment, GO GO GO.....

"The apparition of these faces in the crowd:
petals on a wet, black bough"
-Erza Pound

WHAT I'M WEARING:
Purple Fur Jacket: Oxfam Boutique, Grey Tank & Acid Wash High-Waisted Denim Shorts: Topshop, American Apparel Leggings, Necklaces: Vintage & Topshop. Alexander McQueen Scarf. Sunglasses: Vintage

I finally stopped going out. 2 consecutive nights completely killed me, but now that its Friday : I'm craving a Saturday night out. Sadly, I have too much to do- fun will have to wait until next weekend.

The weather was absolutely foul today- Summer deserted Durham and winter it seems has sunk back in. In need of an energy boost, I went "Thrifting" (a.k.a. browsing the Charity Shops). I found some amazing pieces, including a lace dress from Topshop, a floral blazer and a floral floor-length dress: all for the amazing amount of 12 pounds- exactly the same price as ONE top at Topshop. Seriously, I urge you all to visit your local Salvation Army: you would be surprised at the great stuff you can find!

Currently eating a Nutri-Grain Bar & drinking tea + listening to the Kook's latest album, which I loveee. It is almost half 2 in the morning, another bout of insomnia it seems has kicked it...but I really should go and get some sleep!

Breathe Me

Wednesday, June 3, 2009
"I took a deep breath and listened to the old bray of my heart. I am. I am. I am."
-Sylvia Plath

What I'm Wearing:
H&M Eagle Tee, Vintage Waistcoat, Topshop Bow Headband, & Skirt: was previously this crazily long dowdy garment from a charity shop- the 2 pound price tag meant I could snap away with the scissors and not worry about the consequences. Surprisingly, I love how it came out.

I am inherently prone to occasional bouts of melancholy, maybe its the inner-poet within me...maybe I just like to wallow like Orsino in Twelfth Night...or maybe its just "that" time of month. Either way, there is nothing that can cheer me up like perusing a bookstore. My inner geek just explodes into memories of when I spent all my cash on books, not shoes. Walking into Waterstones today instantly lightened my greyish mood. There is something about all those dozens of books on organized shelves that comforts and inspires me.

Speaking of books: Currently re-reading The Bell Jar by Slyvia Plath. I had forgotten what a brilliant piece of literature it was; read, read, read it!

Alexa Chung forever provides me with inspiration, her ensembles are always incredibly casual yet exude a fresh elegance. Appreciate her below:

FINALLY, congrats to the beautiful isquisofrenia:
she will be receiving an awesome Elizabeth & James tee in the mail soon!

And note to the girls that come up to me in clubs and ask "Are you Frassy?"
You guys are seriously SWEET and I wish I knew all of your names.
Thankkk you for the support.

-Emily Dickinson

WHAT I'M WEARING:
Asos Denim "Jeggings", Vintage Shoulder-Padded Beaded Tunic, Mango Heels, Vintage Clutch & Sunglasses: monikapolitan

The smell of mowed grass, icy pimms & lots of fruit. I am hardly being productive these days but I am having the best time everrr. I feel compelled to spend all my time outdoors & only rush indoors when I absolutely have to.

Currently craving: BRIGHT SPLASHES OF COLOUR on high heel shoes. I was very much a "black-shoe" kind of girl but these days I am proud to say, I have kicked the dark addiction and am now lusting after shoes in every shade of the rainbow. Recently bought some vibrantly green flats and now am considering purchasing these:
