"So many songs have come to visit me while I'm out there, free from the confines of four walls. The desert can become your living room, the ocean your bath, the galaxy your ceiling"
-Tori Amos.

What I'm Wearing:
Vintage Fringe Sweater & Sheer Navy Blouse. ASOS Jeggings. Boyfriend's Jack Daniels Tee. Urban Outfitters Boots + H&M Hat.

8 am rise. 3 hour coastal drive. 1 food stop & about 150 songs. We arrive in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Get Lost. Drink strange yet incredibly delicious takeout tea. Get swallowed up in the tourism flow, then subsequently wander off onto my favourite street (West Bow, Grassmarket); full of quirky shops, musty books and vintage clothes. Complain about being too warm then moan about the cold. Fret over which hat to buy, debate whether a scarf is too itchy & ask every vintage clerk if they have any thigh-high boots in a Size 7. Ask random strangers to take our photo, buy cans of coke zero & revel in the glittery christmas lights.

It was only my second time in Edinburgh, and I can safely say it is a city I much prefer in the winter than in the summer. It was lovely to escape the bubble of Durham and get out into the ongoing wave that is a city. My best friend and I have been talking about a potential road trip for months now, I'm glad we finally did it.

Today I woke up, had a ridiculous amount of cappuccino, ambled through a chaos-crammed Christmas Fair, had homemade soup at a cafe with the boyfriend, another cappuccino & then a couple of those wonderful Sunday hours where you do absolutely nothing but still manage to have so much fun.

Ah...your pictures are making me nostalgic for home. Being from edinburgh, you find yourself always desperate to get away yet simultaneously wanting to come home. My favourite shops in the grassmarket are Godiva and, of course, Armstrongs...it's such a wonderland. Glad you had a good time! xx
