Pink Red Bull Wings

"I was trying to go with strength, fragility, and poetry, this tension that is in life and reality"
-Alber Elbaz

What I'm Wearing:
Vintage Pink One-Piece Swimwear, American Apparel Acid Wash Denim, Pink Acid Wash Tote: Primark, Vintage Belt, Ray-Ban Aviators + H&M Black Plimsoles.

Sometimes you have to drift out of your sartorial comfort zone; be outrageous and wear something you wouldn't normally ever wear. This is what I did today with pink. I usually stay clear away from it but after I bought this eye-catching pink swimsuit, I decided to return to my 10-year old roots and throw some bubble gum shades into an ensemble. I am not entirely sure what motivated me to embark on what I like to call a "colour binge", but I fear it might have something to do with what is my severely over-caffeinated, extra-hyper state of mind. Sugar-free redbull has become a huge part of my diet, which isn't healthy, but hey, its so addictive! And I think my mood is adequately expressed in the photos: I was being such a goof.

OKAY PEOPLE: the time has come. Frassy & chickdowntown.com have once again collaborated, and this time the giveaway is a yummy WILDFOX tee. How to win? Reader who asks me the most refreshingly original question PLUS adds Amy (founder of chickdowntown.com) on Twitter OR Facebook, will win. You can do that here (twitter) or here (facebook). So click add + ask an awesome question, and you could win your choice from the above tees!

as a stripy pirate pantaloon and crop top wearing fashionista you seem to make no mistakes in your personal style but do you believe in the idea of a fashion faux pas? and if you do is there a fashion faux pas that you secretly love and would like to pull out of the realms of obscurity?

I read your blog every week and i think its truly a breathe of fresh air especially in my dull fashionless office day!.....my question is....you talk about your friends alot, trips you are taking, where you live and your studies. You probably havent mentioned it because you do not want to or maybe you just think people may not be interested....but do you have a man in your life? what I mean is do you dress for anyone? is there a male who inspires the things you wear? Sometimes you dress sexily [you must get alot of attention looking as good as you do!] then sometimes i can feel that masculine energy, you talked a while back of great love...do you have one? x

Wow, a wildfox couture t shirt! Here's your question:

If everyone started to look like you (and I mean really look like you) would you change your look and be unique and individual again or stay the same and be frassy?

This outfit reminds me of eating icecreams by the beach. You should wear pink more often, you work it well!!

"Sometimes you have to drift out of your sartorial comfort zone; be outrageous and wear something you wouldn't normally ever wear"

- So true, and I must do it more often theres nothing worse than being stuck in a rut! That pink bathing suit under shorts look is fabulous..and wear pink more often it looks amazing on you!

and now a question for you...I love how you express yourself through your style, you take chances and you dress for yourself and no one else. Were you always this way or was there a time in your life that you didn't have the confidence and self esteem to dress the way you wanted to?

That pink swimsuit is kee-razy! But I think it's good to go out of your comfort zone like that - adventure wins!

If you were on a hot air balloon with William Shakespeare, Betsey Johnson, Sylvia Plath and Mary-Kate Olsen and had to push three of them off and spend possibly eternity with the fourth one, what order would you chose, who would you save and why?

Lizzie said...

Following on twitter :)

ok here's a question:
If you were stuck on a deserted island and could only pick TWO items of clothing to have, what would they be and why? Remember, only two...undergarments and socks count hahah

I don't even know what I would answer to this!

I was pointed here by chickdowntown's blog, and I love yours! You're so creative, it's delish. :)

My question is:

Do you have any fashion hangups? Things that you just can't bear, that in reality aren't so bad, but you just can't do?

I simply cannot wear white socks with black shoes, even athletic shoes. I was made fun of by some girl in middle school for wearing funky white textured socks with some black flats. And I just can't get it out of my head... recently read about someone with a phobia of pairing black and brown. :)

You're style has a sort of vintage flair to it so i wonder if you are inspired more by works of literature or cinema or art rather than typical "fashionistas" of today?

Do you think you wear born at the right time, or do you think you belong in a totally different era?

Some people find their fashion inspiration in nature, others in music, what facet of life inspires you to dress the way you do?

Ava J said...

Everyone needs to venture out of their comfort zone, as you did, just for the hell of doing so. It doesnt have to be like a big statement or anything, just something different for a day. Although, I wouldn't have gone with the pink, it turned out very bubbly on you.
