Red Lipstick & Fruit Loaf

My Room in Durham: Covered in Photos of Paris & Magazine Editorials.

What I am Wearing: American Apparel Tee & Dappled Grey Hoodie. SKIRT & GLASSES: Monikapolitan. Shoes & Knee-Socks: Topshop. Chained Clutch: Thrifted for 50p!

What to do with life is getting you down?
Whack out a 10 pound note & go into town. Yesterday, I bought two different shades of red lipstick (Cherry Red & Raspberry Red...yum), a thrifted pale pink blazer with gold buttons for a pound at a charity shop & some fruit loaf. Call me materialistic, but I walked back into my house in a much more optimistic mood. These days, I am yearning for London more and more. Durham students really get me down. Its all "who's doing the most revision, who has gotten the best grade, who is sleeping with who & who said what to who" It's like, I'm 20 now...I just DON'T care.

I guess I just feel like my degree is useless. I want to be learning something that will help my career in fashion, something that will actually make me money. As much as I love Keats, studying his poetry will never prove profitable.

I have a rather tedious Sunday ahead of me, work & tea & maybe some dancing around to VV Brown later. Don't know who she is? I saw her perform live at the ASHISH fashion show at LFW, and she really is spunky & happy & perfect for a mood boost.
Listen Here

How do you guys like the new Frassy header?

FINALLY:
the photograph that has inspired my morning's make-up decisions for a while now- no foundation, sparse eye make-up & bold, BOLD lips.
I love you, Dree....

I'm liking the new header. I nearly went to Durham to study, but was warned by a friend there that he'd met a lot of competitive people who are constantly pestering you for your grades to compare to their own. I chose Liverpool in the end, I'm so glad I did now. I'm sure you make Durham a happier place though with your awesome style!

Love the new header! Your room looks amazing, very personal.
Love the outfit, the glasses are so cool, my glasses are kind of like that, my dad calls me Ugly Betty when I wear them, so polite.

Your nerd glassea re so cool! I guess, however useless your degree may seem, I still feel jealous of you. I am stuck in a seemingly never ending tunnel of high shool, stuck in a boring uncreative environment, with people that have absolutely no interest in fashion, or the '60's or anythingat all apart from MTV.
Still, Durham does sound a bit shit, if I were you, I'd runaway from there and still outside London Topshop busking until they gave you a job :D
Thanks for AA advice. Sorry , silly rambling comment, I'll go now.

what you're wearing in the photos is really way to messy, it just looks extremely sloppy. i'm sorry but how can that be fashionable? and how can the pure, beautiful dree hemingway be an inspiration for that????

I'm glad someone so young and fashionable likes lipstick as much as I do. All of my friends prefer gloss, but I just love the look of bold-coloured lips. Other than that, the header is quite nice but I'm not a fan of your eye-glasses. I like the trend of the larger plastic frames, but those don't seem to fit the uniqueness of your style.
Otherwise, keep dressing well! It's nice to see someone who takes an interest in what they wear .

Great new header! And as useless as you feel your degree to be, I think it's great that you're studying literature (although I was an English literature/international relations double major, so I'm biased). Not everything is about money and what is profitable, and I always felt that being able to devote time and energy to studying something purely for the pleasure of it, and not worrying about pragmatism, was the ultimate luxury.

Amazing, love the skirt and glasses! They pull together perfectly the slouchy outfit :) Your hair looks amazing! I know what you mean with everyone only talking about revision and other people...But at least I'm in London :). I'm sure you have a few slacker/shopping/party-mad friends to hang out with in this time of need, non? xoxo

i'm with anonymous ,
i love messy outfits but really don't like this one , it's not even " cool " . For me , messy should look a bit bohemian and even though you seem to promote that trend you dress very glam-rock .
Dree Hemingway mixes patterns, colors , fabrics and still manages to look hip so don't associate yourself with her .

Ignore stupids comments, at least you have the balls to put your ideas out there and try new things out, and aren't hiding behind behind your big anonymous internet blanket, so you an say things to make yourself feel better about your pathetic life. there's really no such thing as "fashionable" anyway, its entirely a matter of opinion, and to be honest the lamest thing is that unquestioning acceptance of what loks good. I have to agree about the glasses, i um-ed and ah-e about getting them for a while, i mean i think they look great, but there a little overdone and not that original, all the same i think you look super cute in these pictures :), don't worry about your degree, as lovely as some of the CSM gals are here in london, you don't necessarily get tonnes of respect for going to fashion college, a lot of what they churn out is just the the next generic 'fashonista' (Urgh- hate that word), who's work is impossible to apart from anyone elses. durham is a really good uni and english lit will show you have some substance. besides, Anna Wintour dropped out of fashion classes pretty damn quick, stating "you either know fashion or you don't"- if you've got a good eye and you know what your talking about people will notice. As for money do as much free work you can for well known blogs and stuff, eventually people will ask you to write stuff for them (paid), if they like your work and you'll also have a great CV for when you do end up coming to London.
I hope this helps- don't despair, just look ahead! Good luck,
S xx

Corny corny corny .
fashion is a matter of opinion and it revolves around creativity but really what makes this outfit so special ? i just don't seem to understand . And i'm not a " hater " god " stop being so hyperbolic and dramatic nor am i jealous that just pathetic . why can't anyone just accept the fact that some might not like this look ? and it's not a big deal . I didn't write a negative comment because i'm miserable or because i hate myself , I actually like this blog , i often visit it !! and i post great comments sometime , but whats wrong with being honest and sharing opinions ?

Your hair looks amazing on these pics. Exactly how I want mine if it would hurry up and grow past my damn shoulders!

So bored with the negative comments. Why do they read your blog if they don't like your clothes/attitude?

Do you know who they are?
