After a huge mug of tea and a deep bowl of low fat yoghurt, muesli and strawberries, I am ready to start my entry for the Vogue Talent Contest 2009. Winner of the competition wins an internship at Vogue, which is more than enough motivation for me. You also get to have lunch with editor-in-chief, Alexandra Shulman; which would be a dream come true. So yeah, mine better be good- really good.
I was having a conversation the other day with someone about the ubiquitous, stereotypical topshop whore: the kind of girl who walks into topshop, buys everything in sight and subsequently parades around thinking she is fashionable. As much as I love topshop, fashion is about individuality, creativity...mirroring a topshop mannequin hardly leaves room for self-expression. I prefer pairing a 100 pound pair of topshop heels with a blazer I found in a charity shop bin for a pound. Or buying a plain white topshop tank and scribbling all over it.
Fashion isn't about looking like the girl next to you,
so get creative.
I am going shopping today, and for a run. I think a bath and some Lady Gaga is def. on the cards this evening. Oh and work, university work: boring, boring, boring.
How can I possibly concentrate when the sun is so forcefully shining through my windows?
Between the weather and fashionista.com, its a wonder I get anything done. Ever.

I need an oversized sweater to diy stuff to! I should work on that asap before it's too hot to wear it
Long baggy jumpers are the best and so is diet coke, I am totally addicted to it.
So your going to be in London for the summer, I work in Soho and its a total nightmare, far far far too much temptation for someone who has not much money :-(
I also agree about topshop whores, it makes me feel uncomfortable if I'm wearing too many topshop items at once, I definitely feel like a sheep.

im not sure how different you dress to the other clones in Topshop, looks the same to me
oh, same! Looking good, btw. and I have the same problems with H&M - a good 75 perecent of my clothes are from there, although I have depressingly few... have you ever been to singapore? they have this thing called 100 plus and its as good as diet vcoke but way better for you. I wish so much you could get it here. anyways, i was going to do the Vogue thing last year, but I kind of didnt. I will one day though!
I have a friend who is a total topshop sellout (sorry A). It furstates me so much, as her parents throw money at her and she could hve such an individul style but she copies the most fashionable of my friends and wears topshop. AHHGH.
P.s.good luck with the vouge thang, I'm sure they will see the magnificence of your blog and BEG you to come to them!
