Not to be Ignored...

I love this upcoming season's trends, the lace, the austerity, the refined bohemian etc. But today, when leafing through Spanish Vogue, a couple looks from the catwalk really caught my eyes- ones that haven't gotten the publicity or the praise they deserve. Here they are for you to marvel at:

This first one is RALPH LAUREN (RTW) : its so quirky. The angled off the shoulder strap contrasts and complements the squared patterned. The feathered hat gives the anglophile look of the dress an eccentric, almost French edge.

D+G play up to some sort of "equestrian gone wild" look here. Admittedly, the cape is a tad excessive but the rest of the outfit is pretty sensational. From the shiny leather boots to the scarf in the hair: its a creative twist on the plaid craze. The baggy shorts (or skirt, it isnt really clear what the garment is) are my favourite component- they look like boxers for a giant. Is it wrong to want them? I hope not...

Balmain wasn't a brand I paid much attention to, until now, that is. This crazy "zebra" jacket (pricetag- 6.345 euros!) gives Cavalli a run for his money. Not only does it look like something Blondie would wear, but in a season of dark blues, blacks and greys, it completely stands out. Its excessive but not overly-excessive- the perfect balance between refined and rugged.
